Following the success of the annual Magic Millions sale held in Launceston last week, Tasmanian owners, trainers and breeders will have a further opportunity to buy and sell weanlings, yearlings, 2yos, broodmares and racehorses at the inaugural 2010 Tasbreeders/Magic Millions Mixed Sale.
The sale will be held on Saturday 27 March at the Inveresk Showgrounds in Launceston, Tasmania.
Tasbreeders Executive Officer, Brett Williams, said the mixed sale was a Tasbreeders’ initiative designed to provide a service to local breeders, as well as a service for all Tasmanian thoroughbred participants.
“Initial interest has been very positive and we believe the catalogue will appeal to a wide selection of potential buyers,” Mr Williams said.
“If the sale is a success, we anticipate that it will become an annual event,” he said.
This sale is also supported by Magic Millions who are offering the purchasers of the top 10 lots at the sale, a return trip to the Gold Coast and 3 nights’ accommodation to attend any session of the Magic Millions National Sales in June.
Catalogues will be available from mid March from Magic Millions and Tasbreeders. Entries close on 12 March, with entry forms available by selecting the link on the Tasbreeders home page.
Yearlings sold through the mixed sale will be eligible to nominate for annual $50,000 2yo and 3yo Classic races, exclusive for Tasmanian sale graduates.
