TOTE Tasracing Tasbreeders Awards Announced

The four Tasbreeders' awards were announced Friday at the Annual TOTE Tasracing Awards ceremony at Launceston's Country Club Casino.

In an extremely close contest, Tasbreeders Leading Tasmanian Based Juvenile Sire was awarded to Savoire Vivre over equally impressive result by runner up Tough Speed. The stallion, standing at Armidale, had earnings in excess of $310,000 including  wins amongts others by Dream Flyer, Life to the Full, and Ben Annalou.

Tasbreeder's Leading Tasmanian Based Sire was again awarded to Grenville Stud's West Quest. In receiving the award, Grenville's Graeme McCulloch alluded to the sires outstanding consistent progeny performances totally over AUD$10million dollars since his breeding career commenced over 10 years ago.

In another close result, Triple Asset took Tasbreeders Oustanding Filly or Mare Award. The State had three outstanding  performers in Lady Lynette, Tough Chick, and eventual winner Triple Asset, with the latter's fine four wins from eight starts clinching the award in what has been described by all as one of the best results by a Tasmanian two year old.

Ending a "dream" year, Tasbreeder's Leading Broodmare was awarded to Unamah. Dam of the 2010-2011 Horse of the Year, Dream Pedlar, andy promising sibling Dream Flyer, Unamah 's progeny performances shone. Part Owner, Robert Nightingale, was high in his praise for Armidale's ongoing care and management of the mare.
